01.  Prompt

Do you ever wonder how God feels about you seeking him or wanting to hear his voice more clearly? Do you ever question whether God sees you?

Psalm 27 begins with, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” The psalmist knows that God sees him and is for him, and God is for you, too. Throughout the Bible, God promises to be our Savior, Protector, Provider, Comforter, Healer, Guide, and much more, seeing us and meeting us in our times of need.

Jesus invites each of us to be saved by His grace and forgiveness when we receive him by faith. When we put our faith and trust in Him, God is always faithful to be with us. He is filled with love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and patience—even in response to our sin and shortcomings.

Now consider Psalm 27:8, which says, “My heart has heard you say, ‘Come and talk with me.’ And my heart responds, ‘Lord, I am coming.’” God is inviting you to come and talk with him today. In Jesus, you can approach God with confidence, knowing that he is ready to spend time with you. Will you accept his invitation?

02.  Listening & Reflection

Take a few minutes to listen to the simple melody woven into this piece. The introductory theme has some rhythmic movement to symbolize life’s busyness, followed by the chorus theme inviting us to “come and talk with me.” Even though coming to talk with God is a simple invitation, it’s often not as easy as it seems.

As you listen, read through Psalm 27:8 and consider anything that may be preventing you from fully seeking God and spending time with him. Remind yourself that his invitation to come and talk with him is open.
