Inhabiting time is tricky. On the surface, time dominates our awareness. Its scarcity implies that we should do all we can to take full advantage of it; that there should be no lost opportunities. But from a different perspective, what first appeared as a “lost opportunity” can be transformed into an opportunity gained. This week, we feature Larry Crabb’s reflections on these two kinds of time in his, “Time: Opportunity Lost or Opportunity Gained?”
“Every opportunity lost opens a surprising door to opportunity gained. In this second kind of time, I am becoming who I already am, and I am discovering what is indestructibly alive within me and capable of joys yet unfelt that most surely lie ahead.” – Larry Crabb
