Nowadays, it feels as if there are only two lenses through which to view the Christian life: unquestionable certainty or smug cynicism. But do either of these options really tell the whole story of the reality of a life with God?
Dr. Nijay Gupta, Professor of New Testament at Northern Seminary and Dallas Willard Research Center Affiliate Scholar, spoke on the role of doubt in the Christian life. In his lecture, Dr. Gupta couches doubt as a “faithful” third way between the polarizing extremes of certainty and cynicism. He reminds us that it is ok to have “doubts in the midst of a faith that continues to walk forward toward and with Jesus.”
