Conversatio Divina

Part 1 of 4

Encountering the Christ Who Forgives

Jesuit Institute of South Africa & Trevor Hudson

Ignatius of Loyola makes a remarkable journey from being absorbed by vanity and selfishness to being uncompromisingly in love with Jesus Christ. His encounter with Christ changes him and the world. Through his Spiritual Exercises, he continues to draw countless men and women into a living relationship with God.

These talks trace his journey, showing how, over time and through life experience, God, in Jesus, captures his imagination and life.

In the first talk, we see how Ignatius, with no sign of an inner life, becomes aware of his interior movements and begins to see qualitative differences between them. One movement is from God; the other is not.
