In this week’s newsletter we are pleased to call your attention to a new Conversatio feature, RESPIRE. The focus is on spiritual formation assessment and it draws from Dallas Willard’s Model of the Person presented in Renovation of the Heart and positive psychology. We hope you enjoy exploring these new resources which were developed through Next Frontiers Lilly-funded program for thriving in ministry.
Next Frontiers, is a Lilly-funded grant project sponsored by the Martin Institute for Christianity and Cultura and Westmont College. It is a 12-month program designed to help mid-career pastors thrive in ministry during times of transition. The key features include fostering spiritual renewal through engaging in structured retreats, working with mentor pastors, community development, and monthly praxis activities. We are pleased to announce that a renewal grant has been awarded and Next Frontiers is now recruiting pastors for a fourth entering cohort group.
The third guide in a five-part series designed to provide creative engagement with Lacy Finn Borgo’s curriculum, Life with God for Children, is now available at conversatio.org. Each guide offers suggestions on using this resource in a unique setting. This article will focus on using the curriculum in the local church. We hope that by sharing these ideas, anyone involved in the spiritual development of children will gain a vision of the broad and rich opportunities that Life with God for Children offers for discipleship, soul care, and Biblical literacy.
Borgo’s complete curriculum is also available as a free download at conversatio.org.
