As Dallas says in the first lecture he accepted this invitation to speak to Evangelical Free churches gathered at First Evangelical Free Church, Kansas City, because of its theme "restoring your spiritual passion." Unlike his contemporaries, the promise of passion is not something Dallas used to draw people in. But in these messages it is clear that he saw passion as a natural outcome of discipleship to Jesus.
