Human misery is a topic which Christian philosophers and theologians have wrestled with since the book of Job! In 2011 Menlo Park Presbyterian Church (now Menlo Church) invited Dallas Willard to participate in their weekend services for multiple interviews on the subject. There were four services in total and some of interviewer John Ortberg’s questions repeat across all four. What is not repetitive are Dallas’s answers. This collection of interviews not only provides an intellectual exploration of the issue, but also offers a glimpse into Dallas Willard’s compassionate and pastoral approach to addressing human suffering.
