As we are in the midst of the Advent season and thinking about the coming of King Jesus over 2,000 years ago, Conversatio Divina wants to offer you a few gifts. The first you’ll find in this newsletter—links to Dallas Willard’s teaching on the Kingdom that span 3 decades. Next week we’ll send you transcripts from one of these teaching series and remind you about how to find the Advent devotions on this site—but we hope you’ve found them already.
1978: Presence of the Kingdom of God
In 1978 Dallas was asked to do some preaching for a new church plant, Faith Evangelical Church, and for their morning services he chose to teach through Matthew, the Sermon on the Mount and a few passages later on. This is a short introduction to how Dallas was thinking of the kingdom in the 1970’s.
Dallas speaks in this weekend seminar for lay leaders about leadership and how it is done and done differently in the kingdom of God.
This recordings is from a meeting in L.A. of the Theological and Cultural Thinkers (TACT) which met for about a decade and always invited Dallas as a participant. Dallas, perhaps because of his long relationship with them, gives a very heartfelt message on ministry and the gospel.
