Last May the Martin Institute for Christianity and Culture and Dallas Willard Research Center hosted it 3rdannual Christian Formation Workshop. Roughly 100 scholars and ministry leaders gathered at Westmont College to further understanding on the role of spiritual practices in generating and strengthening Christlike virtues.
The workshop gathered biblical, theological, philosophical, and psychological evidence to refine Christian understandings of the role of spiritual practices in virtue formation, and sought to consider the practical application of such knowledge to Christian life and ministry.
In the coming weeks, we plan to release the videos thematically. This week we feature a welcome by Westmont President, Gayle Beebe, the opening remarks of Steve Porter, Senior Research Fellow and Executive Director of the Martin Institute, and the closing remarks of Rebecca DeYoung, Professor of Philosophy at Calvin University. Steve and Rebecca were the co-organizers of the workshop.
